Okinawa Trip 2009

Well I made it back on Friday, August 21 and have to say what an amazing trip it was this year. A special thanks to Tamayose Sensei, Shapland Sensei, and Smith Sensei for making this such a good trip and taking care of our group while we were visiting. Congratulations to 10 years of the Tesshinkan Ryukyu Kobudo organization and all the hard work all its members have put into this unique and difficult style of Okinawan Kobudo. (Weapons)

It was wonderfull to see all the different members from around the world partake in this once in a lifetime event. From the United States I would like to say thanks to all the Canadians, and Europeans that made the trip a chance for all the Tesshinkan members from around the world to get together and celebrate Tamayose Sensei’s 10 years of hard work and travel to help preserve this ancient system of Okinawan history. I would also like to thank Tamayose Sensei again for all the special gifts that were distributed to the members that attended this once in a lifetime event. All members got to visit Tamayose Sensei’s mountain home, where most all the gatherings at night were held, as he plans to make this the location for his future dojo. The view over the Bay was very beutiful, and will make the perferct location for a new dojo.

New things disucssed and issued this year were: Tesshinkan Member books, which were given to all members that attended, Official Dojo Teaching Licenses, which were also given to several Dojos making them Licensed and official Tesshinkan Dojo, and Tamayose Sensei’s new Dojo Kun (Tesshinkan Rules). Everyone was excited and happy to have Sensei explain everything to everyone and gave us all a good idea and direction of where Sensei is heading with the Tesshinkan in the future.
