October 23 Shorin Ryu Karate and Ryukyu Kobudo Promotions

     Hello everyone,

I just wanted to congratulate everyone on a really great testing Friday night.  Everyone who tested, did really well.  All the hard work and training on the floor is really starting to pay off and it shows.  Karate gradings ranged from green belt to yellow belt and lasted about 1 hour.  The Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate test was then followed up with a Ryukyu Kobudo Test, where promotions to Orange and Yellow were awarded.  Once again, very good job everyone.  The time and dedication that this stuff takes is something to be very proud of.  We will have another testing next month (November 2009) and the exact date will be announced later this month.  There were many members that just weren’t quite ready, or didn’t have enough class hours in to make this months testing, so we look forward to seeing you all next month.

As everyone that tests finds out, these exams really start getting difficult the further you advance.  Cardio fittness will become a major component of your training to be able to last through the entire exam as time goes on.  If you are not actively attending our Cardio kickboxing class, you should really consider getting into these classes too to help get your body prepared.  These classes last one hour and held in mornings and evenings.  The class is composed of body weight drills and exercises that will shed weight and get you fit.

For those of you that really want to lose weight and take it the next level, Ocala Karate & Fitness will be Ocala’s First Licensed “Fighting Fit ” Boot camp facility in Marion County.  These Classes should be available by the first of the year and we are really excited about the content and drills that these camps offer that make them different from the other “Conventioanl Boot Camps”  Utilizing more Martial Arts training methods, this camp will ”Kick” start your metabolism and get you shedding weight almost immeadiatly, so if you need more information on our Cardio fitness programs don’t ”Weight” to call.  Spots are limited and the class will fill up quickly.
